about us title

Cockrill & Braiden, established in 1984 by Dave Cockrill and Grant Braiden, began in the decorating trade working with major contractors such as Berkeley Homes, Gleesons, McCarthy & Stone and Persimmon Homes. Our reputation and client base quickly grew and to meet market demands we expanded our team and skill sets to offer services such as property maintenance, complete interior renovation, restoration and project management.

It is our ability to adapt to any working environment and still achieve high standards of workmanship within the specified timescale and budget that makes us stand out above other contractors. As a company we are also very aware that our reputation is only as good as the people we employ. Our team is very important to us and we ensure that at all times they are fully qualified and confident to deal with customers, surveyors and council officials. Unlike other companies, we ensure that our clients have direct contact with Dave and Grant, the Directors, at all times.

We are proud of our achievements and affiliations with the following companies:

»

Federation of Master Builders

»

Member of Checkatrade

»

Approved Insurance Contractors for Homeserve

»

Member of the Association of Environmentally Conscious Building (AECB)

»

Certificate of Controlled Waste according to the Control of Pollution Act 1989

»

Homeserve Certificate of Achievement

Health & Safety

Cockrill & Braiden at all times strive to provide and maintain a healthy and safe working environment for the team by adhering to our Health & Safety policy.

We ensure that all staff are provided with the appropriate personal protective equipment to carry out their work safely and efficiently. We are aware of and try to minimise the effects of noise pollution, prolonged use of vibrating machinery, fire hazards, use of hazardous substances, working with electricity, working at heights and use of power tools in the workplace.

Cockrill & Braiden believe in planning and prevention, therefore we carry out thorough risk assessments prior to undertaking work. We invest in our staff and value the working practices each team member is expected to perform on a daily basis and therefore they receive all necessary training for each project.
